Coletta’s has two full-service Italian restaurants in Memphis. If you prefer old, retro-style dining, Coletta’s at 1063 South Parkway is the place for you.  Established in 1922, it is the oldest continuously operating restaurant in Memphis.  Try our homemade ravioli or lasagna or select one of our famous pizzas – Elvis’ favorite was the BBQ pizza.

If you prefer upscale Italian dining, try our newer restaurant, established in 1999 and located at 2850 Appling Road in East Memphis.  The many Venetian and Roman murals give you the feel of old Italy in a villa-style setting.  Call for reservations or visit us online at www.colettasrestaurant.com.

In 1983, Ernie Mellor and fellow hunter, Tripp Murray, were sitting around deer camp cooking a wild hog harvested that morning. They weren’t exactly sure how the barbecue would turn out but they knew it wouldn’t be bad. They were right: it was GREAT! This was the beginning of a real good thing and in 1987 Ernie Mellor started HOG WILD BAR-B-Q as a business. Located at 1291 Tully Street, Hog Wild has a state of the art kitchen where they cook gourmet food selections for their catering business, “A Moveable Feast.” They also created their famous sauces here, which they sell commercially. Hog Wild has won many trophies for their award winning BAR-B-Q and Killa’ Wet Sauce from the Memphis in May World Championships and in the Kansas City Barbecue Society American Royal BBQ Sauce contest. In April 1998, the St. Louis Cardinal Triple-A farm team, The Redbirds, moved to Memphis. Hog Wild secured the BBQ concessions contract and the concept of “BBQ Nachos” was born: a bed of nacho chips topped with award-winning, pulled-pork shoulder, Killa’ Wet sauce (our own creation) and a big shot of nacho cheese. Others have tried to reproduce our recipe but none have duplicated it. In 1999 Hogwild brought this delectable dish to The Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium to share with all of our Memphis fans and now they can’t make them fast enough! Hogwild is proud to serve the fans at the stadium as well as help the community by utilizing non-profit groups for their concession stands.
